A Raíces
About This Spot
Stepping into A Raíces in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria feels like discovering a quietly confident space where the familiar hum of local life meets thoughtful plant-based creativity. It’s the kind of place where time slows just enough to savor more than the meal—inviting you to settle into its warm, welcoming rhythm and enjoy a genuine moment of calm.
The atmosphere here balances relaxation with intention. Friends gather softly around tables, their conversations mingling with the gentle background sounds of softly played music and the faint clink of cutlery. The pace is unhurried but never stagnant; dishes arrive fresh and vibrant, each plate thoughtfully prepared to reflect both tradition and innovation through a vegan lens.
Rather than mimicking classic Spanish flavors, the kitchen at A Raíces reimagines them in ways that feel heartfelt and surprising. From the rich aromas of homemade chorizo delicately flambéed in red wine to the playful textures of freshly crafted croquettes, each bite tells a story of roots and renewal. Desserts change often, offering sweet snapshots of the season’s best, complemented by thoughtfully chosen vegan wines that flow as naturally as the conversation around you.
This is not just dining; it’s a quiet celebration of what vegan cuisine can be when made with care and a deep understanding of place. The team’s warmth seeps through every detail, making visitors—whether longtime locals or momentary travelers—feel seen and considered.
In a city alive with culinary options, A Raíces offers a gentle refuge, a space to connect with the spirit of Gran Canaria through food that honors both tradition and change. It’s a heartfelt invitation to linger, discover, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a meal shared thoughtfully.

Best restaurant in Las Palmas! The vegan tapas are delicious! Make sure to try the Tortilla de patatas! Also daily changing desserts and good vegan vine.

Excellent vegan restaurant. The place to go if you are in Las Palmas. I had the tortillas which were delicious. Friendly service. It was quiet when I was there; I hope it gets the support it deserves.

So lovely to be able to eat at a fully vegan restaurant with similar food to local cuisine! Chef is a very lovely lady - food was delicious.

Their croquettes were amazing, probably the best I’ve ever had. I also tried the chorizo and it was very good too. I wish I could have stayed in Las Palma longer to have a proper meal here. A must visit for vegans.

We had an awesome lunch here back in 2020, but this time around they have not been open at the adversed times. We've even contacted them to confirm their opening hours, and they then told me they would be open only to then be closed when we arrived well within their opening hours. Really very strange! Make sure you have a backup plan if you try to eat here!

It is a great place to sit in, and feel amazing. Alejandro (owner) is very friendly and welcoming. Helped us, to pick dishes and aswered all enquiries. Restaurant is very neat, and nice not overwhelming musing is playing in the background. All dishes were nice spiced up, no need for any salt or pepper. We were lucky to try "calabaza gratina con caatalaa por los muertos". Which was local stuffed pumpkin. Delish! With the check we received a unexpected lovely shot! Could not recommend more!

well worth to visit. an excellent choice a tapas with vegan versions of traditional dishes. main courses great too. we were all hungry so ordered a spread and many dishes, everything was tasty and well prepared. the restaurant is a small and informal place, the good food and friendly staff merit multiple visits.
